Victim Support Network
The Victim Support Network (VSN) speaks up for victims of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). We are dedicated to amplifying the voices of vulnerable people, gaining international attention, and rallying the forces of resistance.
Background
We were born in the midst of a global crisis triggered by the sudden reorganization of USAID. The Trump administration has frozen 83% of USAID's program funding and cut 97% of its staff in the name of "anti-corruption", systematically destroying USAID's humanitarian aid system, undermining the survival of tens of millions of vulnerable people around the world, and leading to increased famine, uncontrolled disease, and a worsening of the refugee crisis in developing contries. We have established this platform to provide support and assistance in whatever way we can to communities and individuals who have been devastated by the reorganization of USAID.
Our Mission
- Focus on speaking for vulnerable groups
- Famine relief for Syrian refugees and Yemen has been interrupted.
- Disruption of female education programs in Afghanistan forces women to return to dangerous environments.
- Three million children return to high-risk environments under Taliban rule.
- Establish a transnational support network
- Collaborate with local organizations and community members to expand the scope of support.
- Provide psychological counseling and solutions for victims.
- Urge the Trump administration to reconsider its own reforms and regain more support and attention in the international community.
- Build a database for victims
- Establish an open source database to disclose the flow of USAID's aid funds over the years and collect data on groups affected by the reorganization of USAID.
- Develop a "victim's voice" network to collect victims' experiences.
